DSC07344DSC07348Hi everyone, long time no see.

Sorry I’ve been away for a while. It’s not my fault, you see my mum has been busy and although I’m fine, she’s neglected my blog. Well, she’s said sorry, and I’ve forgiven her and we are determined to write a blog post at least once a week.

We have had some fun though.

Being British, we love picnics and one day we decided to go to the famous Solesme’s Abbey. As you can see, the picnic spot is very nice, its right by the river and you can see the beautiful abbey in the background.

The village of Solesme is beautiful and very quaint. Driving to it, you cannot but be awed by its majestic abbey which dominates the skyline. There is a small church, just outside the abbey entrance which has some beautiful modern stained glass windows and the abbey itself is  famous for its Gregorian chant.

My dad stayed outside with me, because it was quite hot and I can’t be left in the car otherwise I would DIE!

If you can, time your visit so you enter the abbey before 1pm, you will not only have the chance to see the wonderful windows and life-sized stone biblical scenes, you can also experience the monks entering and singing the chant, its a wonderful if eerie experience.

I’ll tell you some more of my adventures next time.
