rs1Well as you know, being a Border Collie, a bit of wet weather doesn’t worry me, but the wind and rain have been pouring down the last couple of days.

Here at Fantasy Farm the chickens have kept in their hen house, they don’t like the wind at all.

In the field the ponies Marine and Prudence are staying in their shelter most of the time eating the big round of hay inside. However, just now I heard a lot of noise and there was Marine running down the field as fast as her legs would carry her.

Mum laughed to Dad, “Marine’s got the wind under her tail,” she said.

“What do you mean,” asks Dad?

“Well, when the wind is blowing, it makes horses jittery and so it is called getting the wind under their tail, it is quite normal. You see, the wind can make bags flutter and things move of their own accord and it makes the horses jump about, so you have to watch out, especially if you are riding them.”

Well, you learn something new every day, I thought as I watched Marine charge past the window again, followed by Prudence who was going as fast as her little legs could carry her.

Just now I went out and asked them about it.

“It’s just an excuse for a run around, but don’t let on to the humans,” Prudence whispered to me.

“Your secret’s safe with me!” I called as I ran quickly back to my Mum.

Bye for now!
